Vom Tag 2 des Schüleraustauschs mit Albaida in Spanien im Rahmen des Erasmus-Projektes berichten Laura J. and Merle S. (E-Phase) /
From day 2 of the Erasmus-exchange to Albaida, Spain, report Laura J. and Merle S. (E-Phase):
DAY 2
On the second day of our exchange programme we started off strong with a long walk to the recycling company Casaravi located in the neighbouring town. On our way there we walked past many attractive places in town and in nature and were pleased with a beautiful view.
Reaching our destination, the recycling company Casaravi, we were introduced to the technique of recycling by one student´s mother, who works there. She explained to us that separating the different types of plastic is very important for the final product to be usable. That´s why it´s very complicated to recycle masks, which are made of different plastic types. We were then shown the different production lines and ways to clean the plastic. The end product is quite surprising because it consists of little plastic balls which can then be melted again to make new products. The chemist explained to us that every product is unique as it is especially produced for a certain usage and that those balls are even sent to German companies. The chemist also looks after the quality of the product and tests it. With the little plastic balls, many things get produced, for example plastic furniture for the garden. After gaining a lot of interesting knowledge we started our walk back to Albaida, where we visited the famous local market, taking place every Tuesday.
We ended this day´s program with a tour through the school IES Josep Segrelles, where we were astonished by the different types of programmes offered there. At the IES Josep Segrelles, you can also learn to be a hairdresser or a gardener. Then, we were welcomed by the director before we listened to fascinating presentations about sustainability and the possible ways of living more sustainable held by our Spanish Erasmus+ team. In the afternoon, some students met again in a café to try typical Spanish pastries.
